Much like bad weather hit the northwest the prior day, City swept United away at the their home ground. It was a statement three goal triumph for Andrée Jeglertz’s side due to goals from Rebecca Knaak, Shaw and Lauren Hemp. It was a result that firmly established their leadership claims as they consolidated their position at the WSL pinnacle.

Successive Defeats for Manchester United

This outcome signalled successive WSL setbacks for Skinner's side for the first time since spring 2024, placing them a sizable gap off the table toppers with their title hopes hanging by a thread.
