I'll dominate 'credible fighter' Paul - Joshua
The British boxer prepares to battle the American YouTuber in an eight round fight which will be shown in real-time on the streaming platform.
Briton Anthony Joshua stated he will "overwhelm entirely" the American and "overpower" his opponent as the pair confronted each other to promote next month's bout.
Former two-time unified boxing king Joshua faces social media star turned fighter Jake Paul - in what is, theoretically, a massive disparity - at Miami venue on 19 December.
Fighter's Attitude
"I'm going to damage his features and break his body up. I aim to demonstrate I'm superior," Joshua, 35 years old, stated.
"I will dominate him completely. That's the boxer's mindset.
"I'm going to seriously aim to injure him. That's my intention."
Civil Exchange
In spite of such comments, a relaxed Anthony Joshua and social media star Paul - normally known for his theatrics - exchanged pleasantries and maintained decorum with each other.
Paul rather targeted ex Joshua's rival Francis Ngannou and described him as "not serious" after Ngannou turned down a match opportunity.
Targeting Tyson Fury
Joshua, at the same time, criticized UK opponent Tyson Fury - and refused a million-pound wager 'The Gypsy King' claims he will make on a victory for Paul.
"Jake Paul is superior to Tyson Fury - he's actually sitting here," the boxer said.
"I acknowledge that."
Serious Fighter
Despite stating he plans to hurt Jake Paul, Anthony Joshua refused to talk badly about his rival's fighting skills.
"Jake Paul is a serious fighter," he remarked.
Paul's History
Jake Paul - who first rose to fame on the Disney Channel - has primarily fought mixed martial artists or faded names since entering professional boxing.
He lost to British fighter Tommy Fury in 2023.
Financial Attraction
However, the relative newcomer remains one of boxing's largest commercial attractions, regularly earning substantial financial rewards.
Forecast and Belief
The 28 year old forecast a KO victory in rounds four or five and stated he would prevent the long-awaited match between Joshua and Fury, which is reportedly in the works for 2026.
"The next fight will be my match with Fury in the coming year," Jake Paul said.
Physical Difference
As the two fighters met for the usual stare-down, with their height and weight contrast evident, it highlighted just how surprising this entire matchup is - and how astonishing it is that the match is actually going ahead.
